797 Don Mills RdMarketed as “Tribeca Lofts on the Upper East Side,” the Toronto lofts at 797 Don Mills Rd certainly have a lot to live up to! While the original TriBeCa is actually found in the Lower West Side of New York City, the comparison is understandable, especially as Toronto’s Tribeca was originally the Mony Life office building, but was converted into lofts by T.W.S. Developments Inc. Likewise, the TriBeCa neighbourhood of New York is filled with authentic loft conversions, as former industrial buildings once populated this area. Accessibility is another common theme between the Tribecas; New York’s TriBeCa features the Holland Tunnel, connecting New York to New Jersey. On the other hand, Toronto’s Tribeca Lofts provides easy access to Eglinton Avenue, taking you east and west throughout the city, the Don Valley Parkway allows north and south travel, and two bus routes create timely transport to the TTC Subway, from where you can access the rest of the city. Though the Toronto building and the New York neighbourhood share a history of building conversion and appeal to commuters, Tribeca Lofts are located in an area of Toronto quite different from its New York namesake. New York’s TriBeCa is expensive, exclusive and largely residential with little green space to boast of, while Toronto’s Tribeca lofts are trendy, yet affordable and offer access to the vast park space of the surrounding neighbourhood - they are, however, the only lofts in this area of Toronto, a stark contrast to the similarly named loft-filled New York area. Nearby Serena Gundy Park features 62.6 acres of beautiful walking trails to enjoy, and Leaside Parks and Woodgreen Park are also minutes away. Get your golf clubs ready; Flemingdon Park Golf Club offers a challenging 9-hole golf course, certainly a feature of this neighbourhood that would not easily be found in the urban sprawl that is New York! At 17 storeys and featuring soaring ten foot ceilings, easy accessibility to all Toronto has to offer, and plenty of green space, you’ll agree that the “north of the border” Tribeca is the place to be!
